A Day in the Life: Experiencing Ketamine Assisted Therapy

May is Mental Health Month, and ATMA CENA is proud to shine a light on innovative treatments for chronic mental health conditions — including treatment resistant depression, anxiety and panic disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, chronic pain, and other persistent mental health conditions.

Dr. Ravi Bains, Psychiatrist, and Lisa Kemp, Director of Programs, will walk you through our Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy program, and answer questions that we hear the most from clients and referring doctors:

  • How does Psychedelic Assisted Therapy work?
  • What conditions does it treat & who is it right for?
  • What is a typical treatment plan? (understanding the steps)
  • How do you work with community therapists and family doctors?

This will be an informal talk with lots of opportunities to ask questions.

Whether you’re a patient exploring options or a provider looking for new tools for your treatment-resistant clients, this session is for you. ATMA CENA collaborates closely with family doctors and patients in the development of treatment plans.

WHAT IS PSYCHEDELIC ASSISTED THERAPY?

You have may have heard in the news that the US recently signed an executive order fast-tracking psychedelic medicines through the FDA — a signal of where mainstream medicine is heading. Canada’s regulatory environment is not far behind.

PAT is physician-supervised medical treatments for depression and anxiety combining medicine (e.g. ketamine) and psychotherapy in a structured approach designed to support individuals navigating complex mental health challenges.

At our clinics, psychedelic-assisted therapy is delivered by a multidisciplinary team in a safe, supportive, and professional environment. Every client receives a tailored care plan that includes screening, preparation, medicine sessions, and integration — all designed to ensure that insights gained in session can be thoughtfully processed and applied in everyday life.
