Introduction to Internal Family Systems & Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

Online

Capacity: Limited to 12 participants to preserve depth and discussion (waitlist available once capacity is reached)

Description

Psychedelic sessions often bring forward powerful inner experiences that can be difficult to name, organize, or safely navigate.

Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, offers a clear and structured framework for working with the “parts” that emerge in therapy. Rather than pathologizing symptoms, IFS understands each part as having a protective intention. Healing occurs when clients access Self energy, a grounded state characterized by calm, clarity, compassion, and curiosity.

When integrated into psychedelic assisted therapy, IFS provides clinicians with a practical map for:

  • Preparing clients for inner work
  • Navigating intense or protective responses during sessions
  • Supporting meaningful integration without forcing outcomes
  • Maintaining client safety and internal consent

This live, virtual training introduces the foundations of IFS and explores how it can be thoughtfully applied across preparation, in session work, and integration therapy.

Participants will gain:

  • A working understanding of parts and Self
  • Clinical language for working with protective strategies
  • Practical considerations for psychedelic contexts
  • Space for discussion, case reflection, and application
