Course Details

Designed as part two of our Integrative Pathway, this course helps practitioners build an informed and ethical understanding of psychedelic-assisted therapy. It prepares participants to thoughtfully support clients navigating psychedelic experiences in other settings, with clarity around professional boundaries, scope, and best practices.

Our goal is to prepare students for a Holding Space Experience.

Course Highlights

Small Group Work: Interdisciplinary Scenario Series
Participants will be assigned to small interdisciplinary groups and will work together to complete three client scenario assignments. These assignments are completed outside of the live sessions and align with key course modules. Groups submit their responses prior to the related live Q&A session, where students can ask questions that arose during the exercise.
Self-Care Sunday Sessions

A dedicated part of the training curriculum, these sessions offering participants a space to pause, reflect, and integrate their learning while supporting their own well-being. Hosted by Matthew Kelleman, these 60-minute online sessions provide practical tools and guided practices to help participants stay grounded and resourced as they move through the training.

Live Q & A Sessions

  • Live Q & A 1: Intake - Ben Malcolm
  • Live Q & A 2: Ethics - Pam Kryskow

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer financial aid for eligible applicants. If cost is a barrier, you can contact training@atmacena.com. Our goal is to make this training accessible to qualified professionals across diverse backgrounds.

Requirements depend on both your province and your professional college. Because ATMA CENA works with practitioners from many different backgrounds—psychologists, social workers, clinical counsellors, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, and others—the specific rules will vary.

  • Alberta: Psychologists and social workers are required by their colleges to have at least five years of registered practice before offering innovative therapies. All clinicians providing this service in Alberta are required to have training in addition to other requirements.
  • Ontario: There is currently no formal five-year rule, but practitioners must stay within their professional scope and have proper training and supervision.
  • Other Provinces: Standards are evolving and differ by profession and regulatory body.

Important: Completing ATMA CENA’s training programs does not automatically grant permission to practice. Your ability to offer this work will always depend on your professional license, your college’s requirements, and provincial regulations. In every case, the clinic’s medical director is ultimately responsible for ensuring providers are appropriately qualified to deliver these therapies.

If you’re unsure what applies to you, contact us. We’ll support you in exploring the best path forward for your professional background and goals.
