Is rTMS a safe treatment option?

rTMS is generally considered safe when administered by trained professionals. It’s non-invasive and doesn’t require anesthesia. Common side effects are usually mild and temporary, including headache, scalp discomfort at the stimulation site, tingling, or lightheadedness. Serious side effects are rare but can include seizures (in less than 0.1% of patients). rTMS is not recommended for people with metal implants near the head or with a history of seizures. It is FDA and Health Canada approved for certain conditions.
